Kitchen Sink Pot
Materials Required
- 4-6" Clay Pot
- Fabric Scraps/ Crepe Paper/ Streamers
- Scissors
- White Craft Glue
- Water
- Bowl
- Paint Brush
- White Craft Paint
- Any Color Craft Paint
- Acrylic Sealer Spray
Instructions
- The first step to make a kitchen sink pit would be to paint the clay pot white. Once this is done, set it aside to dry completely.
- In the meantime, cut the fabric scrap/crepe paper/streamers into small squares, each side measuring 1 inch.
- Now, paint the pot once again, with a second coat of white paint. Let it dry.
- While the pot is drying for the second time, mix white craft glue and water, taken in equal proportions, in a bowl. Stir this mixture until it combines well.
- After the pot has dried, apply the glue and water mixture on it. Place one of the squares on it. Press it a little hard, so that it sticks well.
- Continue doing this until you have created a pattern all over the pot. You can either use multiple colors or two of your mom’s favorite ones.
- Once the pot dries, paint the top rim and the area just underneath the rim, with a complementing color.
- Now, spray acrylic sealer over the pot and let it dry.
- The last step would be to fill the pot with some kitchen utensils and place it in the kitchen, for your mom to discover and feel happy about.
Decorative Bag Holder
Materials Required
- Tall Paper Mache Box, with lid
- Craft Paints, in various colors
- Small Sponge
- Wax Paper
- Sharp Scissors
- Ribbon (to hang on wall)
Instructions
- Place the wax paper on a table and squeeze a small amount of paint on it.
- Now, wet the sponge, making sure to squeeze out the excess water.
- Using the sponge, paint the entire paper mache box in one color of paint.
- Let the paint dry. If you have chosen a light shade, go for a second coat and let it dry.
- Once the base color is done, paint the paper mache box in additional colors of paint, using the same sponge. Try to use your mom's favorite colors.
- Let the paint dry.
- Using sharp scissors, cut a hole in the paper mache box, near the bottom.
- Open the lid of the box and keep the plastic bags inside it.
- The decorative bag holder is ready for use.
