Simple Craft Ideas For Mother's Day
Felted Box
Materials Required
- 2 sheets Purple Felt
- 1 sheet Dark Purple Felt
- Scissors
- White Craft Glue
- Glue Stick
- Empty Envelope Box or other Cardboard Box
- Greeting Card or Clip Art
Instructions
- The first step would be to cut out the upper flap of the cardboard box.
- Now, using a glue stick, cover the box with a purple felt. Make sure you wrap both the interiors and exteriors of the box.
- For securing the seams and ends, use white craft glue.
- Cut 4 strips from dark purple felt, each 1 inch wide.
- Style the ends of the strip felt, by trimming them to give a curve. Another way would be to use the decorative scissors to add designs.
- Now, stick these strips in each of the corner, to cover the seams.
- Designing the front panel of the box depends entirely on you. You can either stick a pretty picture of your mom, a clip-art or any other decoration.
- Now, for the sides of the box, cut some hearts from a greeting card and stick them on.
- Your felted box is ready to be given to your mom!!
Bouquet of Photo Flowers
Materials Required
- Construction Paper, in various colors
- Glue Stick
- Photos
- Scissors
- Tape
- Green Chenille Stems, one for each flower
- Patterned Paper
Instructions
- The first step would be to collect some photos of your family members. Once you have collected the photos, cut them into circles so that you can use them in the center of the flowers.
- Now, cut the construction paper into simple flower shapes.
- Using a glue stick, paste the photos in the center of the flowers.
- Once this is done, stick the flower onto a patterned paper.
- Now, cut around the flower, giving your construction paper ½ inch border of patterned paper.
- Stick a chenille stem to the back of each of the flower. Glue the stick properly, so that it does not come out.
- Trim the chenille stem, according to the length you want. Your bouquet of photo flowers is ready to be gifted to your mother!!
